This is written in plain English on purpose. It says what we collect, where it goes, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@pastorprep.com. A person reads it.
Your account. Your email address, your church's name, the tradition you choose, and your settings. If you join a church someone else set up, we keep your role there (administrator, pastor or secretary).
What you write and upload. Sermons, outlines and notes; the past sermons you share so PastorPrep can learn your voice; bulletins and announcements; your church's logo and pictures.
Billing. Stripe handles payment. We receive your plan, your payment status and a Stripe customer ID. We never see or store your full card number.
How you found us. When you sign up, we keep the ad click ID, campaign tags and referring page your link carried, if any, so we can tell which ads and pages bring people in.
How you use PastorPrep. Pages you visit, buttons you use, your browser and device type, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address), error reports, and session recordings (see below).
On pastorprep.com. Your email address and anything else you type into a form, such as the passage and notes for a free outline, plus the campaign tags from the link you arrived on.
Messages to us. Anything you send through "Report a Bug" or by email, including a screenshot if you choose to attach one.
PastorPrep uses Anthropic's Claude models to write and review drafts. When you ask for a draft or a review, we send Anthropic what it needs: the passage, your notes, the draft, and excerpts from your voice samples. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on what we send.
We don't train any AI model on your sermons either. What PastorPrep learns about your voice is stored with your account and used only for your drafts. It isn't shared with other pastors or other churches.
We'd rather say this plainly. When something goes wrong in the app, Sentry receives an error report. For an AI request, that report can include the prompt we sent and the draft that came back. PostHog records sessions in the app so we can see where people get stuck. Those recordings show the text on the page and what you type, sermon text included. Password fields are hidden, and so is the name of a Publisher file you upload.
On pastorprep.com, Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use the pages, and Google Analytics counts visits.
These companies help us run PastorPrep. Each gets only what its job needs.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. If PastorPrep is ever sold or merged, your information would pass to the new owner under this policy, and we'd email you about it.
You can recover a Publisher file without an account. Here is what happens to it.
You can block or clear cookies in your browser. The app needs its sign-in cookies to work.
We keep your account and content while your account is open, and after a trial ends or you cancel, so you can come back or export it. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your content from PastorPrep within 30 days. Copies in encrypted backups last until those backups are deleted. Some records, such as payment records, are kept longer when the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal information. We do use Google Ads conversion measurement, as described above.
PastorPrep is run from the United States. Our database is in Canada, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries.
Everything travels over encrypted connections. Each church's information is walled off from every other church's at the database level, and in the app your sermons are visible only to you. No system is perfect. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.
PastorPrep is for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before the change takes effect and update the date at the top.
